Whew! It has been what? two months since my last update? - If you are an online marketer, you would have guessed that something is cooking whenever a PERSONAL blog has not been updated. The past few months was one helluva roller coaster ride for me. I have been doing some experiments here and there, creating campaigns left and right and just trying to boost my income. Based on my goals, I have yet to achieve my ultimate goal - But then again, for every goal, there will be obstacles… LOTS OF ‘EM.

Experiments - I have been doing some experiments with pay per click advertising. I have launched a few campaigns that made it to the green, some stayed on the line and some just ain’t there yet. Nothing much to report, that is why, I slacked in writing/updating this blog.

Undo Theme - If you have noticed, this was my last theme before using the AzSands theme. I have decided that I will stick to this theme for the reason that IT is plain dang SIMPLE. I love simplicity that is why I revert it back to my original-favorite theme

Personal Website - Since my domain name is MY surname. This will serve as my personal website but still with touch of SEO, Affiliate Marketing and Domain names. Not much to talk about S.A.D. but then again, I might hit AGAIN a gold mine and I won’t hesitate to put results on my experiments here.

More Experiments - I have a goal of $4000 this month of December, and I have been working my arse off this season. I will be conducting another set of experiments and hopefully provide a report here on my blog.

Boring life updates - If you’re still interested in reading entries on this blog (Hi DAD!) and with no luck you didn’t find any, you can follow me on twitter. I am posting once in a while my life’s update there. Here is the link - jayl on twitter. Please mention my name @jayl so that I would know and will follow you back.

Sooooo, I should be working now, until my next update. I just hope the next time - I will provide you with some meaty stuff for you to succumb.

cheers.

Believe me if I say that It is normal to have frustrations in life, especially, if you are running a business. These are normal instances wherein emotions would kick you in the ass and really, and i mean reaaaaallly make you uneasy. Frustrations may lead to depression and that my friend ,you would not want to experience.

Expectations on another note will also be a part of your life. You would expect some things and most of the time, it is always an expectation that would be in favor for you. This is also not healthy, based on my experience. For every expectations that is turned down, there is a consequence of being frustrated. Now, are you getting my drift?

It seems that expecting something would be really anticipating with the results based on actions, but expecting BIG can really turn a positive thinking and attitude to a sinking boat overnight. The moral lesson here is always be prepared for the unexpected. As easy as it may sound, this is very difficult to handle. In life there are always two sides - Failure and success, and you should really try anticipating both and really also EXPECTING that the opposite MIGHT actually happen.

To summarize my rant here:

moderate Expectations (OK)

Big Expectations > can lead to frustrations > can lead to depression

It is not bad to aim high, but to expect a positive outcome always is not really healthy for business.. and in life.

You got your great domain name, had a tight niche in mind and installed the Wordpress content management system platform to your web server. You also have chosen your free wordpress theme that comes with advertising links located in the footer. You then decided to delete it or atleast put a a ‘ rel=”nofollow” ‘ to it so that your link juice will not pass to that particular site that does not even related to your blog.

The ONLY problem is that the Script is Encoded in the Footer.php - What now? Here is a simple step by step on how to Decode Encrypted Wordpress Footer Script Fast.

1. Go to your Footer.php (Appearance > Editor > Footer.php)

2. Copy the Encrypted Script which should start with

“eval(gzinflate(base64_decode(’80jNyclXyFTPVUhJTc5…………… “

3. Decode this encrypted wordpress footer by opening this Decoder Script on a new window and paste the text you copied on step 3.

4. Hit the Decode Button

By hitting the decode button, you will now see a more understandable script wherein you can edit or put a no follow tag and replace it with the current footer.php text.

There are many ways to earn money online and which I love to call “Money Paths on the Interwebs.” I remember a year ago, I was searching the internet on how to make money online. I first encountered Domaining, Client based SEO, then keyword and niche blogging, site/blog flipping, then affiliate and niche marketing.

Domaining

This was my first venture on the internet. Based on my readings, Domaining is a science and art of gathering domain names that would or must have a relative value and then sell it for a profit. There are many ways on how to profit from the domaining industry.

Buy and Hold

A person who buys domain names (mostly brandables or ones with business sense) and hold it/or make a portfolio of these domain names and sell it later for a profit. This one is very rewarding for the reason that some companies/name collectors would buy this domains for an amount way higher than the registration fee paid. The con to this type of strategy is that transactions would actually depend on the interest of the buyer and unfortunately, there are more sellers than buyers thus having the seller more domain names registered, not to mention renewing them every year in order the get a higher chance of selling domain names.

What to look for:

Brandable

High probability of having a commercial value

age and history of name if applicable

Domain Flipping

Domain flipping is a fast paced type of purchasing a domain name and selling it for a profit. Seller would acquire domain names (mostly generic and ones that have a tendency of acquiring a typed-in traffic) and then sell it for a quick buck. Sometimes, names having a page rank would have a high value tagged to it.

What to look for:

page rank

a type in value (domain names receiving traffic through users typing the domain name directly to the browsers url address)

age and history of name if applicable

Domain Parking

Many domainers do this. since they have hundreds or even thousands of domain names, they cannot really tend to all of them, instead, they park it and hopefully earn a few cents or even dollars. Imagine a domain name earning a dollar per day x 30 days = $30 correct? What if 10 domains x $1 x 30 days = $300!

Webiste Development

If you have a good name and want to earn a better income out of it, you can always develop it into mini-sites. a 5-page seo-ed site would earn as high as 10 times than a parking income can generate. Stream of income may come from ppc networks like Adsense, Adbrite, infolinks and commission type of income from Ebay EPN, Amazon and Clickbank.

There you have it, domaining in a gist. Be sure to be back for Money Paths on the Interwebs Part II for I will discuss other Money Making Methods here on my blog.

There are a lot of blogs that talk about their earning reports, quick tips and tutorials. These blogposts actually motivate me as an online entrepreneur (self proclaim) and made me wonder if they are working hard or working smart?

This week, I did a lot of tasks at hand, some sort of a full-forced-get-it-done-asap work. I set aside a large percentage of my reading and researching and focused on application of what I have learned these past few weeks.

Based on this week’s performance, I must admit that I really worked hard. Created a list of tasks and updated all niche blogs I managed, not to mention a disappointing 50% decrease of my earnings. I also re-organized my keywords for my campaigns and hopeful that I can launch the latter by early next week.

This got me contemplating if I am on the right path. Am I working hard and not working smart? A certain part of my brain tells me that in order to be successful, I must work hard, but the other part tells me that working smart should be the best way to go.

In the end really, I think these two should be combined together. In order to have a passive income, which is really my goal, hard work should be implemented first. Automation or “autopilot” (as some gurus say) would follow soon after the real work has been done.

How about you? Are you working Hard or or Working Smart?

Or is it not? I remember my first few weeks studying search engine optimization. One topic that I read was about Long Tail Keywords as part of the keyword research process. It states that you should always consider long tail keywords on your keywords list. Why? For the reason that it signifies more specificity of the search. It may have small volume but it definitely impose a more targeted customer query that can be a qualified candidate for conversion.
An Example is Always Nice

For example, which for you is more specific - “Laptop” or “Acer Aspire 4736Z“? - Definitely it is the latter that is more specific. If you were the researcher, you would think that Laptop would give you a lot of impressions and Acer Aspire 4736Z would return a low volume of searches. That is correct, but when it comes with conversions, you should also think that the more specific the search term is, the more likely the person who searched for it will buy the product (thus conversion kicks in).

Knowing the Searcher’s Behavior is one approach that must be considered. The searcher is more likely on the buying mode when he or she types in a specific model of a laptop than when typed only just “laptops”.

A Contradictory Title

Long Tail keywords converts as well as your broad keyword terms. In conclusion, you should always put in mind and jot down some long tail keywords. Why settle for a just the big part of the pie, when you can still squeeze in and get some of the smaller part. It is not greed, it’s Market Domination.

After a few days of not updating my twitter account, I finally did put up and catched up on some posts. In any case you still do not know twitter, it is an open-source micro-blogging platform that can really be handy with internet marketers, bloggers and the like.

Twitter Slapping

Indeed, Twitter is really getting serious with spam nowadays, unlike the back ol’ days, twitter dont care on what you tweet. Since it became popular due to some tv promotions and publicity from famous personalities, twitter became active in fighting spam. It may be not that very strict as of this writing, but expect soon that it MAY implement stricter rules like the the Big G has.

Speaking of twitter, I am on the verge of launching an experiment, A Make Money with Twitter proces, like Mahrgil’s Make Money Online with Twitter but with a twist… or not. I am hoping for positive results soon, and if ever, Imma share it with my readers, if there are any.. lol.
